As Chief Investment Officer for TMGOC Ventures, Krystal oversees TMGOC’s underwriting and closing processes while working to expand the firm’s capital markets relationships and geographic reach.  Upon joining the firm in mid-2022, Krystal led the financing, diligence and closing processes for six individual transactions, doubling the firm’s portfolio at the time.  She actively works alongside Glenn and Sunju to determine and implement the firm’s investing strategy and direction.

Prior to joining TMGOC, Krystal led the hospitality investing platform at Canyon Partners Real Estate in Los Angeles.  As a Managing Director, she was responsible for originating, structuring, and closing the firm’s hospitality and mixed-use real estate investments, including senior loans, mezzanine loans, preferred equity, and co-GP equity positions.  She also oversaw asset management for the firm’s hospitality investments.  During her tenure as an originator at Canyon, Krystal was responsible for over $450 million in capital deployed representing over $1.6 billion in total asset capitalization; as a senior asset manager, she oversaw a $1.5 billion hospitality portfolio comprising both debt and equity investments with a total key count of over 4,300 rooms.

Prior to joining Canyon Partners, Krystal served as Senior Vice President for Centurion Partners in Aspen, CO, where she managed predevelopment and financial analysis for complex mixed-use projects including The Residences at The Little Nell, a luxury fractional development which opened in December 2008; and a proposed 300,000 SF luxury hotel/fractional/condominium project.

In addition to the Residences at Little Nell in Aspen, Krystal’s rich construction investing and financing experience is highlighted by a collection of iconic hotels including the SLS Brickell, Moxy by Marriott South Beach, Culver City’s Ivy Station (which includes the Shay Hotel, a Destination by Hyatt hotel), the Carte (Curio) in Downtown San Diego, Hotel NIA (Autograph) in Menlo Park, and Moxy Charleston (her favorite so far!), among others.

Krystal is a graduate of the University of Virginia (BA, Environmental Science) and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Master in City Planning, Master in Real Estate Development).  She currently lives in Carbondale, Colorado, with her husband Chris and two daughters and enjoys snowboarding, telemark skiing and mountain biking as often as time and weather allows.
